Final Steps

Select reference person

Depending on the Thermal Comfort Index to be simulated, a number of personal parameters of the simulated person can be selected. The most options are available with dPET and PET, which allow not only to set the clothing and level of activity, but also the sex, height, weight and age of the simulated person. For UTCI, SET and PMV these parameters are ignored and only a standard person according to ISO 7730 (35 years, male, 1.8 m tall) will be considered in the simulation.

If you want to create individual reference persons, go to the Settings Person/ Community tab to see and edit the body and activity parameters.

For Dynamic Thermal Comfort, the choice of the reference person will be done in the tool itself.

Start the simulation

Finally, you have to decide which Thermal Comfort Index should be calculated by BIO-met. The available static indices are PET* (recommended), UTCI, SET and PMV/PPD (not recommended). For simulating Dynamic Thermal Comfort, a separate tool will be launched for which an individual guide will be available soon.
